The Colour of Magic and The Light Fantastic by Terry Pratchett
We usually blurb about one book at a time, but this is a special case. The best fantasy series we've ever read (it's currently at 30+ books and counting), Discworld is required reading for anyone who likes magic, comedy and adventure.
